Uses
Trancap 250 is commonly prescribed for:
• Heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
• Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
• Bleeding during or after surgery
• Traumatic hyphema (blood in the anterior chamber of the eye)
• Dental procedures in patients with bleeding disorders
• Prostatectomy and bladder surgery
• Hereditary angioedema
Dosage
• Adults: Typically, 1–1.5 grams (1000–1500 mg) per day, divided into 2–3 doses
• Children: About 25 mg/kg body weight, divided into 2–3 doses
• Renal impairment: Dose adjustments may be needed based on kidney function
Precautions
• Avoid in severe kidney disease, active clotting conditions, color vision disorders, and subarachnoid hemorrhage
• Use with caution in those with irregular periods, previous clotting disorders, or hematuria
• Long-term use may require liver tests and eye exams
• Discontinue if visual issues appear
• Avoid fast IV injections to prevent low blood pressure
• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding
