Each milliliter of the suspension contains 100 International Units (IU) of insulin. The “50” in “NOVOMIX-50” indicates that it is a 50/50 mix:
- 50% Insulin Aspart (rapid-acting): This component works quickly to lower blood sugar levels after meals. It is absorbed rapidly into the bloodstream, typically starting to act within 10-20 minutes after injection and peaking around 1 hour.
