Nasivion Mini 0.01% Nasal Drops is a nasal decongestant formulated for infants aged up to 1 year. It contains Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride (0.01%), which helps relieve nasal congestion by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages, thereby reducing swelling and facilitating easier breathing.
Main Uses
- Relief from Nasal Congestion: Provides effective and long-lasting relief from blocked noses due to common cold, allergies, or sinusitis.
- Improved Breathing: Helps infants breathe more comfortably, aiding in better sleep and feeding.
Dosage and Administration
- Dosage:
- For infants up to 4 weeks old: Instill 1 drop into each nostril 2–3 times daily.
- For infants aged 5 weeks to 1 year: Instill 1–2 drops into each nostril 2–3 times daily.
- Duration: Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion.
- Method: Clean the infant’s nose, have them lie down with the head tilted back, and instill the drops as directed
Precautions
- Age Restriction: Not recommended for children over 1 year of age.
- Medical Conditions: Consult a doctor before use if the infant has heart disease, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes.
- Allergies: Do not use if the infant is allergic to Oxymetazoline or any other ingredients in the formulation.
- Interactions: Avoid using with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other medications that can increase blood pressure.
Side Effects
