Description

Lamez 100mg Tablet contains Lamotrigine 100mg, an antiepileptic drug (AED) or anticonvulsant.

Uses: It is primarily used to treat two main conditions:

• Epilepsy (seizures): It helps prevent and control various types of seizures (fits) by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain. It can be used alone (monotherapy) or with other anti-epileptic medications.
• Bipolar disorder: It acts as a mood stabilizer, helping to prevent extreme mood swings, including episodes of depression and mania. It’s often used for long-term management to prolong the time between mood episodes.

How it works: Lamotrigine works by blocking voltage-sensitive sodium channels in the brain and reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate. This helps to stabilize nerve cells and reduce the excessive and abnormal nerve activity that causes seizures and mood swings.

Dosage and Administration:
