Mechanism of Action
Indomethacin works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins—chemical messengers involved in inflammation, pain, and fever. By blocking these enzymes, it reduces inflammation and alleviates related symptoms.
Indications
INMECIN 25 is indicated for the treatment of:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Acute gouty arthritis
- Bursitis and tendinitis
- Musculoskeletal pain and inflammation
Dosage and Administration
- Usual Adult Dose: One capsule (25 mg) two to three times daily, or as prescribed by a physician
- Administration: Should be taken with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort
