Infixime

Infixime belongs to a class of antibiotics that work by attacking the bacteria’s cell wall. It binds to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins or PBPs) that are essential for building the cell wall. By stopping this process, Infixime causes the bacterial cells to die.

Cefixime works by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) in bacterial cells. This action inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, which is crucial for bacterial cell wall formation. By disrupting cell wall assembly, Cefixime causes bacterial cell death.
