Description
FA 5mg Tablet primarily contains Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) in a 5mg strength.
Main Uses:
- Folic Acid Deficiency: Treats and prevents conditions arising from low folic acid levels, such as megaloblastic anemia (a type of anemia where red blood cells are abnormally large and immature, leading to weakness and lethargy).
- Pregnancy Supplementation: Crucially important for pregnant women or those planning pregnancy. Adequate folic acid intake helps prevent neural tube defects (serious birth defects of the brain and spinal cord) in the developing fetus.
- Other conditions: May be used to manage folic acid deficiency caused by certain medical conditions (e.g., malabsorption disorders) or as an adjunct for some medications that deplete folate levels.
How it works: Folic acid is essential for the production and maintenance of new cells, including healthy red blood cells, and plays a vital role in DNA synthesis.
Important Notes:
