Dovspas Tablet: What You Need to Know

Dovspas Tablet is a medication designed to relieve muscle spasms in your body. It contains Drotaverine Hydrochloride.

What It’s Used For

Dovspas Tablet is prescribed to ease pain caused by muscle spasms in conditions such as:

• Gastrointestinal tract spasm (spasms in your stomach or intestines)
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual periods)
• Biliary colics (pain from gallstones)
• Renal colics (pain from kidney stones)

How to Take It

Adults:

• For Spasms (Oral): Take 1 to 2 tablets, three times a day.
• Injection (Into Muscle or Under Skin): Your doctor might give you 1 to 2 injections (ampoules) one to three times daily.
• For Severe Stone Colics (Intravenous): For very painful kidney or gallstone attacks, 1 or 2 injections can be given slowly into a vein.

Children (Oral, for Spasms):

• Children over 6 years: Give 1/2 to 1 tablet (which is 40 mg), one to two times daily.
• Children 1-6 years: Give 1/4 to 1/2 tablet (which is 20 mg), one to two times daily.

You can take Dovspas Tablet with or without food.

Who Should Not Take It (Contraindications)

Do not use Dovspas Tablet if you have:

• Severe kidney problems
• Severe liver problems
• Severe heart problems
• Porphyria (a rare blood disorder)

Important Things to Note

Use Dovspas Tablet carefully if you have:

• Kidney, liver, or heart conditions.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, always talk to your doctor first.

Drug Interactions

• Dovspas Tablet might reduce the effect of levodopa (a medication for Parkinson’s disease).
• Taking it with pain relievers (analgesics), antimuscarinics, or benzodiazepines might give you extra relief from spasms.

Possible Side Effects

Side effects you might experience include:

• Vertigo (dizziness)
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Dry mouth
