Description
Aczee Alpha Lotion is for topical/cutaneous application to affected areas.
Adult Dosage for Acne:
- As a 2.5-10% preparation: Apply 1-2 times daily after cleansing. You can gradually increase application to three times a day if needed. It’s best to start with lower strength preparations.
- As a cleanser: Wash the affected area 1-2 times daily.
Administration Instructions:
- Apply sparingly to the affected areas after thoroughly washing your skin.
Important Considerations
Contraindications:
- Do not use Aczee Alpha Lotion if you are hypersensitive to any of its ingredients.
Precautions:
- Discontinue use if severe irritation occurs. You can restart treatment at tolerable levels once the irritation has cleared.
- Do not use occlusive dressings over treated areas.
- It may cause dermatitis in allergic patients.
- Apply carefully near the eyes, mouth, neck, and other mucous membranes, as well as other sensitive areas.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
- Excretion in breast milk is unknown; use with caution.
Interactions:
- PABA sunscreens may temporarily discolor fabric when used with Benzoyl Peroxide.
Potential Side Effects
Side effects of Benzoyl Peroxide topical may include:
- Excessive drying of skin
- Allergic dermatitis
- May bleach fabrics or hair
- Skin discoloration
- Skin rash, peeling
- Transient local edema
How Aczee Alpha Lotion Works
Benzoyl peroxide has a mild keratolytic effect, meaning it helps shed dead skin cells. It also possesses antimicrobial activity due to its oxidative properties, making it effective against bacteria like Staphylococcus epidermidis and Propionibacterium acnes, which are commonly involved in acne development.
