Uses
Zocef 250 mg is prescribed for:
- Respiratory tract infections: Pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis
- Ear infections: Otitis media
- Sinus infections: Sinusitis
- Urinary tract infections: Cystitis, pyelonephritis
- Skin and soft tissue infections: Cellulitis, impetigo
- Bone and joint infections: Osteomyelitis
- Sexually transmitted infections: Uncomplicated gonorrhea
- Surgical prophylaxis: To prevent infections during surgery
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: Typically 250 mg every 12 hours
- Children: 10–15 mg/kg/day, divided every 12 hours
- Administration: Take with food to enhance absorption; swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water
- Note: Complete the full course as prescribed by your doctor, even if symptoms improve
