Description
Veloz Tablet (Rabeprazole)
Veloz Tablet contains rabeprazole, a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It works by significantly reducing the amount of acid produced in your stomach.
What is Veloz Tablet used for?
Veloz Tablet is prescribed to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid, including:
- Peptic Ulcer Disease: This includes ulcers in both the stomach (gastric ulcer) and the first part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcer).
- H. pylori Infection: It’s used as part of a combination therapy to eliminate Helicobacter pylori bacteria, which are a common cause of ulcers.
- Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Often known as acid reflux, this condition involves symptoms like heartburn and acid regurgitation. It also treats erosive oesophagitis (damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid).
- Paediatric GERD: Specifically for children over 12 years of age.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: A rare condition characterized by the stomach producing abnormally high levels of acid.

- Pregnancy and Lactation: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, discuss with your doctor whether Veloz Tablet is safe for you. It’s currently unknown if rabeprazole passes into breast milk, so caution is advised.
- Monitoring: Your doctor may monitor your magnesium levels before starting and periodically during prolonged use.
