Description
Tor-20mg Tab contains atorvastatin (20 mg), a statin used to lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke. It works by inhibiting an enzyme in the liver responsible for cholesterol production, thus lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or “bad” cholesterol while increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or “good” cholesterol. Tor-20mg is typically prescribed for adults with high cholesterol or a history of heart disease, taken orally once daily, often at night. It’s effective in managing dyslipidemia and preventing cardiovascular complications, especially in diabetic patients. Side effects may include muscle pain, fatigue, or digestive issues, and in rare cases, it can cause liver damage or rhabdomyolysis (severe muscle breakdown). Patients with liver disease or heavy alcohol use should avoid it. Regular monitoring of liver function and muscle symptoms is recommended during treatment.
