  • Have eczema.
  • Have sunburned skin.
  • Allergic to tazarotene or any other ingredients in the cream.

Precautions and Warnings

  • Avoid contact with your eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes.
  • Do not apply to abraded (broken) skin.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight or UV light, including sunlamps, as this cream can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. If sun exposure is unavoidable, minimize it.
  • Do not use on more than 10% of your body surface area.
  • Do not use an occlusive (airtight) dressing over the cream.
  • Always wash your hands thoroughly after applying the cream.
  • Do not use more cream than instructed. Using too much won’t make it work faster and may increase side effects.
  • Women of childbearing potential must use effective birth control measures. You should have a negative pregnancy test within 2 weeks before starting treatment and begin therapy during a normal menstrual period.
  • Avoid using retinoids on eczematous skin, as they can cause severe irritation.
  • Use with caution if you are also taking drugs known to be photosensitizers (e.g., thiazides, tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, phenothiazines, sulfonamides), as this can further increase your risk of photosensitivity.

Potential Interactions with Other Medications

  • Other dermatologic medications and cosmetics with irritant or strong drying effects: Concomitant use can lead to increased drying.
  • Drugs known to be photosensitizers: Using these alongside Tazret Forte Cream can increase your risk of photosensitivity.

How it Works

Tazarotene is a synthetic retinoid that’s applied topically. Once absorbed into the skin, it’s converted into its active form, tazarotenic acid. This active form influences cell growth and differentiation by modulating gene expression, which helps improve the skin conditions associated with acne and psoriasis.
