Description
Tacroz Ointment (0.03%) is used to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema). It contains Tacrolimus, which works by suppressing the immune system’s overreaction in the skin, reducing inflammation and symptoms like redness and itching.
Main Uses:
- Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema): Reduces inflammation, redness, and itching.
- Sensitive Areas: Suitable for use on areas like the face and skin folds, where steroids may not be recommended.
How It Works:
Tacrolimus inhibits T-cell activation, controlling the immune response and alleviating eczema symptoms.
Usage:
Apply a thin layer to affected areas twice daily, as directed by your healthcare provider.
Side Effects:
- Common: Burning, stinging, or itching at the application site.
- Less Common: Headache, skin irritation, or increased sensitivity to hot or cold.
Precautions:
- Avoid excessive sun exposure; use sunscreen.
- Do not apply to areas with active infections.
