Description

Uses of Synogel Syrup
Synogel Syrup is prescribed for:
- Dyspepsia (indigestion)
- Flatulence (gas)
Dosage Information
Synogel Syrup is taken orally.
Adult Dosing
- Dyspepsia, Abdominal Bloating:
- 10-20 mL orally every 4-6 hours.
- Take 1 hour before or 3 hours after meals.
- Alternatively, chew 2-4 tablets every 4-6 hours, not to exceed 12 tablets per 24 hours.
- Antacid (for stomach acid relief): Up to 1 g/day.
- Hyperphosphataemia in Chronic Renal Failure: Up to 10 g/day in divided doses with meals.

- Separate administration of these and other drugs by approximately 2 hours.
Simethicone

Mechanism of Action
- Aluminium Hydroxide: Neutralizes stomach hydrochloric acid to form aluminum chloride salt and water, thereby increasing gastric pH.
- Magnesium Hydroxide: Acts as an osmotic laxative, drawing fluid into the bowel and causing the colon to distend, which increases peristaltic activity. It also reacts with hydrochloric acid to form magnesium chloride.
- Simethicone: Works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal system, dispersing and preventing gas pockets.
