Sotret
Sotret Gel is a topical medication containing 0.05% Isotretinoin, manufactured by Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. It is used to treat acne.
How to Use
For adults, apply a thin layer of Sotret Gel sparingly to affected areas once or twice daily. You should start to see an effect within 6-8 weeks of treatment.
Description
Do not use Sotret Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Precautions and Warnings
Before using Sotret Gel, discuss your medical history with your doctor, especially if you have:
- High triglycerides (e.g., due to diabetes, obesity, or high alcohol intake)
- Diabetes
- A history of osteoporosis or other bone metabolism disorders
- Anorexia nervosa
- A history of psychiatric disorders
Your doctor may recommend monitoring your:
- Triglyceride levels
- Blood lipids and liver function tests (LFTs) (weekly or bi-weekly)
- Blood glucose (if you have diabetes)
