- Sitagliptin Phosphate equivalent to Sitagliptin 100 mg
- Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg
- Dosage Form: Film-coated bilayer tablet

Mechanism of Action
- Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that enhances the body’s natural incretin system, increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon levels in response to meals.
- Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, enhancing glucose uptake by muscle cells and decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose.
Together, they offer complementary mechanisms for effective blood glucose control.
Indications
SITA M 1000 is indicated for:
- Adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Patients inadequately controlled on Metformin alone or those already being treated with Sitagliptin and Metformin separately
- As part of a combination therapy along with proper diet and physical activity
Dosage and Administration
- Usual Dose: One tablet once or twice daily, as prescribed by a healthcare provider
- Administration: Should be taken with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects
- Dosage Adjustment: May be needed based on renal function and individual patient response
Storage
- Store below 30°C in a dry place
- Protect from moisture and light
- Keep out of reach of children
Precautions
- Not for use in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
- Monitor renal function regularly
- Risk of lactic acidosis with Metformin, especially in renal impairment or dehydration
- Use with caution in elderly or debilitated patients
