Description
Seroflo 250 R/C is an inhalation medication that combines Fluticasone Propionate (250 mcg) and Salmeterol (50 mcg). It is primarily used to manage asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Main Uses
- Asthma: To prevent and control symptoms like wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing.
- COPD: To manage chronic bronchitis and emphysema by improving airflow and reducing flare-ups.
How It Works
- Fluticasone reduces inflammation in the airways.
- Salmeterol helps keep the airways open by relaxing the muscles around them. Together, they improve breathing and reduce the frequency of asthma attacks and COPD exacerbations.
Dosage and Administration
- Inhalation Only: Use with a Rotahaler device.
- Administer at the same time each day.
- Not for acute relief; always have a rescue inhaler available.
Side Effects
- Common side effects may include headache, throat irritation, hoarseness, cough, nausea, and muscle or joint pain.
Precautions
- Allergy: Avoid if allergic to Fluticasone, Salmeterol, or other components.
- Medical History: Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or liver/kidney problems.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use only if prescribed by your doctor.
- Eye Contact: Avoid contact with eyes to prevent irritation.
