Description
Rozavel-10 Tab contains rosuvastatin (10 mg), a statin used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke. It works by inhibiting an enzyme in the liver that produces cholesterol, decreasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or “bad” cholesterol while increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or “good” cholesterol. Rozavel-10 is typically prescribed for adults with high cholesterol or a history of heart disease, taken orally once daily, with or without food, often at night. It’s effective in managing dyslipidemia and preventing cardiovascular complications, especially in diabetic patients. Side effects may include muscle pain, headache, or nausea, and in rare cases, it can cause liver damage or rhabdomyolysis (severe muscle breakdown). Patients with liver disease or heavy alcohol use should avoid it, and regular monitoring of liver function is recommended. It’s not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential fetal harm. Avoid grapefruit juice, as it can increase the drug’s concentration, leading to toxicity. Always follow the prescribed dosage and report unusual symptoms like muscle weakness to a doctor promptly.
