Description

Contraindications: Do not use Motilium M if you have:

  • Hypersensitivity to domperidone.

  • A prolactin-releasing pituitary hormone condition.
  • It’s generally not for chronic administration or routine prevention of post-operative nausea and vomiting.

Precautions: Use with caution if you have:

  • Phaeochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal gland).
  • Are under 2 years old (children).
  • Are elderly.
  • Have renal or hepatic impairment.
  • There’s a risk of cardiac arrhythmias and hypokalemia (low potassium) if administered intravenously.

Potential Interactions:

  • May reduce the effect of bromocriptine (used for high prolactin levels).
  • May lessen the prokinetic effect of opioid analgesics and antimuscarinics.
  • Potentially Fatal: Taking Motilium M with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (like ketoconazole, erythromycin, or ritonavir) can significantly increase domperidone levels, raising the risk of serious heart rhythm problems (QT prolongation).
