Description
LIPITOP 5MG TAB contains Atorvastatin, a statin medication used to lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks and strokes. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme responsible for cholesterol production in the liver, thereby decreasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, often called “bad” cholesterol, and increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, or “good” cholesterol. It is prescribed for adults with high cholesterol or those at risk of heart disease, often alongside a low-fat diet and exercise. LIPITOP 5MG is typically taken once daily, with or without food, preferably in the evening. Regular monitoring of liver function and cholesterol levels is necessary during treatment. Patients should report any unexplained muscle pain or weakness, as it may indicate a rare but serious side effect.
