Description
Halobet-F 10gm Cream is a dermatological medication combining Halobetasol, a potent corticosteroid, and Fusidic Acid, an antibiotic, to treat bacterial skin infections accompanied by inflammation. It is primarily used for conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin disorders where bacterial infection is present. Halobetasol reduces swelling, redness, and itching by inhibiting inflammatory chemicals, while Fusidic Acid prevents bacterial growth by interfering with protein synthesis. The cream is applied topically to the affected area, usually once or twice daily, as prescribed. Side effects may include burning, itching, or dryness at the application site, which are typically mild. Prolonged use or application on large areas may increase systemic absorption, risking side effects like adrenal suppression. It is not suitable for viral or fungal infections or for use on sensitive areas like the face unless directed by a doctor. Regular monitoring is advised for prolonged use.
