Uses:
Grilinctus-BM Pediatric Syrup is used to:
- Treat wet (productive) cough in children
- Relieve bronchial congestion and tightness in the chest
- Help in conditions like bronchitis, asthmatic cough, and upper respiratory tract infections
How It Works:
- Terbutaline: A bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles to make breathing easier
- Bromhexine: A mucolytic that breaks down mucus and phlegm, making it easier to cough out
- Guaiphenesin: An expectorant that thins mucus in the airways
- Menthol: Provides a cooling sensation and helps relieve throat irritation
Dosage (Pediatric):
- Typically 2.5–5 ml, 2–3 times daily
- Dosage should be strictly as per pediatrician’s advice
- Shake well before use and use a measuring cup or spoon
Common Side Effects:
- Nausea, vomiting
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Tremors (from terbutaline)
- Mild stomach upset
Serious (Rare) Side Effects:
- Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, trouble breathing)
- Increased heart rate or palpitations
