Description
GRANDEM TAB 1MG (Granisetron) is an antiemetic used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or postoperative conditions. It works by blocking serotonin receptors in the brain and gut, inhibiting the vomiting reflex. Suitable for adults and children (as prescribed), it is taken orally, often as a mouth-dissolving tablet, 30 minutes before treatment or as directed. It is not effective for motion sickness or other cancer treatment side effects. Common side effects include headache, constipation, and drowsiness, while rare risks like serotonin syndrome or heart rhythm changes need monitoring. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity or severe heart conditions. Avoid heavy meals post-dose to enhance efficacy, and sip water to prevent dehydration. Consult a doctor for use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or with liver/heart issues. If vomiting occurs within an hour of dosing, a repeat dose may be needed.
