Description
FORACORT ROTACAPS 400MCG (Budesonide 400 mcg + Formoterol 6 mcg) is a combination inhaler used for maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Budesonide, a corticosteroid, reduces airway inflammation, while Formoterol, a long-acting bronchodilator, relaxes airway muscles, easing breathing. It relieves symptoms like wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness but is not for acute attacks. Suitable for adults and children (as prescribed), it is used via a Rotahaler, typically twice daily. Common side effects include throat irritation, hoarseness, and oral fungal infections (preventable by rinsing the mouth post-use). Serious risks like paradoxical bronchospasm or adrenal suppression require monitoring. It is contraindicated in patients with acute asthma attacks or hypersensitivity. Consult a doctor for use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or with heart conditions. Regular use is essential for control.
