Uses
Flunil 20 is prescribed for:
- Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Panic Disorder
- Bulimia Nervosa
- Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Dosage
- Initial Dose: Typically, 20 mg once daily in the morning.
- Maintenance Dose: May be increased to 40–80 mg daily, depending on individual response.
- Administration: Can be taken with or without food.
- Consistency: Take at the same time each day to maintain stable blood levels.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include:
- Nausea
- Headache
- Dry mouth
- Drowsiness or insomnia
- Dizziness
- Loss of appetite
- Increased sweating
- Fatigue
- Sexual dysfunction (e.g., decreased libido, erectile dysfunction)
Serious side effects are rare but may include:
- Suicidal thoughts or behavior
- Seizures
- Unusual bruising or bleeding
- Eye pain or blurred vision
- Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)
Precautions
- Allergy: Avoid if allergic to fluoxetine or any of its components.
