How Emez 20 Tablet Works
Emez 20 is a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI). It works by specifically targeting and blocking the H+/K+ ATPase (often called the “proton pump”) in the acid-producing cells of your stomach. This action effectively suppresses the production of gastric acid, reducing acidity in your stomach and allowing conditions like ulcers and esophagitis to heal. Esomeprazole is the S-isomer of omeprazole, another well-known PPI.
