How It Works
Carboprost is a synthetic version of a natural prostaglandin (prostaglandin F2α). It works by directly stimulating the muscles of the uterus (myometrium), causing them to contract strongly. These contractions lead to the expulsion of the products of conception during abortion and help to control bleeding after delivery by compressing blood vessels in the placenta.
