Description
Candiforce 100 Capsule is an antifungal medication primarily used to treat various fungal and yeast infections. It contains Itraconazole, an azole antifungal agent that works by inhibiting the growth of fungi.
Primary Uses:
- Candiforce 100 Capsule is prescribed for:
- Onychomycosis (fungal infections of the nails)
- Dermatophytoses (skin infections like ringworm, athlete’s foot)
- Vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infections in the vaginal area)
- Oral and esophageal candidiasis (yeast infections in the mouth and throat)
- Systemic fungal infections affecting organs like the lungs
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include:
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Stomach pain or bloating
- Headache or dizziness
- Rash or itching
Fatigue or weakness
- Serious side effects are rare but may include liver damage. Symptoms like loss of appetite, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or abdominal pain should be addressed immediately.
- Dosage and Administration:
- Administration: Take the capsule whole with a full meal to improve absorption.
- Dosage: The dosage and duration vary depending on the infection type. For example, treatment for nail fungus may last several months, while vaginal yeast infections may only require a few days of treatment.
- Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s close to the time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Precautions:
- Liver Function: Use with caution in individuals with liver disease. Regular liver function tests may be needed.
- Heart Conditions: Avoid use in people with heart failure or irregular heartbeats, as itraconazole can affect heart rhythm.
- Drug Interactions: Itraconazole may interact with various medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all other drugs you are taking.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Use during breastfeeding should be under medical supervision.
