Description
Asomycin Cream is a topical antibiotic medication primarily used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections. Its active ingredient is Sisomicin, which belongs to the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics. Sisomicin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, specifically by binding to the 30S and 50S ribosomal subunits of susceptible bacteria. This disruption prevents bacteria from producing essential proteins required for their growth and survival, ultimately leading to their demise and helping to resolve the infection.
Asomycin Cream is formulated for external use and is typically applied directly to the affected skin area. It is designed to combat various localized bacterial infections, including those found in minor cuts, wounds, and pyoderma (bacterial skin infections characterized by pus-filled lesions). The cream helps to reduce the symptoms associated with these infections, such as redness, swelling, and discomfort.
