What is Aryadine Cream Used For?

 

Aryadine Cream is an antiseptic used to treat and prevent infections on the skin. It’s indicated for:

  • Primary or secondary topical infections
  • Infected surgical incisions
  • Infected bedsores (decubitus ulcers) or stasis ulcers
  • Pyodermas (skin infections causing pus)
  • Secondarily infected skin rashes (dermatoses)
  • Infected traumatic lesions (injuries)
  • Preventing infections in minor cuts, abrasions, and wounds.

 

Dosage and Administration

 

Aryadine Cream is for topical application only.

Adult Dose:

  • For treating existing infections: Apply the cream once or twice daily, or with each dressing change, for a maximum of 14 days.
  • For preventing infection: Apply once or twice a week for as long as needed.

How to Apply: Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying the cream directly. The treated area may be covered with a dressing or bandage.

Note: Povidone Iodine is also available as a powder. Apply the powder as often as directed, and it may also be covered with a dressing or bandage.

 

Important Considerations Before Using Aryadine Cream

 

Do NOT use Aryadine Cream regularly if you have:

  • Thyroid disorders, especially nodular colloid goitre, endemic goiter, or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
  • Do not use in infants under 2 years old.

Use with special caution if:

  • You have pre-existing kidney problems and are applying the cream regularly to broken skin.
  • You are currently taking lithium therapy (regular use should be avoided).
