How It Works (Mechanism of Action)
- Adapalene: It binds to specific retinoic acid nuclear receptors, which helps normalize the differentiation of follicular epithelial cells. This, in turn, reduces the formation of microcomedones (the early lesions of acne).
- Benzoyl Peroxide: It has mild keratolytic (skin-peeling) effects and antimicrobial activity due to its oxidative properties. It is effective against S. epidermidis and P. acnes, common bacteria associated with acne.
