Description
Uses
- Dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones
- Prevention of gallstones, especially during rapid weight loss
- Management of primary biliary cirrhosis
- Improvement of liver function in children with cystic fibrosis
Mechanism of Action
Ursodeoxycholic acid works by:
- Reducing cholesterol production in the liver
- Decreasing cholesterol absorption in the intestines
- Increasing bile flow, improving liver function
Precautions
ACTIBILE 300MG should not be used in:
- Patients with acute inflammation of the gallbladder or biliary tract
- Those with non-functioning gallbladder or biliary tract blockage
- Individuals with active duodenal or gastric ulcers
- Patients with severe liver or intestinal conditions affecting bile acid circulation.
