Uses / Indications:
A-FENAC SR 100 mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Back pain, muscle pain
- Postoperative or traumatic inflammation
- Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)
- Gout attacks
- Toothaches or dental pain
- General joint and bone pain
How It Works:
Diclofenac Sodium reduces the production of prostaglandins (chemicals that cause inflammation and pain) by blocking COX enzymes (cyclooxygenase-1 and -2).
Dosage & Administration:
- Adults: Typically 1 tablet (100 mg) once daily with food
- Maximum dose: Should not exceed 150 mg/day
- Children: Not generally recommended unless prescribed
- Elderly: Start with the lowest effective dose
Side Effects:
Common:
- Nausea, vomiting
- Indigestion, stomach pain
- Dizziness, headache
- Skin rash
Serious (rare):
- GI bleeding or ulcers
- Liver or kidney problems

Contraindications:
