Mifeprin Tablet
Mifeprin Tablet contains Mifepristone 200mg and is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. It is available in Nepal. Other brands of Mifepristone include Mtpill 200mg (Cipla Ltd.) and Pregno 200mg (OHM Pharmaceuticals Lab Pvt. Ltd.).
Mifeprin Tablet is used for:
- Termination of pregnancy
- Labour induction
- Cervical softening and dilatation
- Postcoital contraception
Description
Mifepristone is contraindicated in:
- Confirmed or suspected ectopic pregnancy
- Chronic adrenal failure
- Concurrent long-term corticosteroid therapy
- History of allergy to mifepristone, misoprostol, or other prostaglandins
- Haemorrhagic disorders or concurrent anticoagulant therapy
- Porphyria
- Hepatic or renal impairment
- Pregnancy and lactation (beyond indicated use for termination)
- Intrauterine device (IUD) in place
- Undiagnosed adnexal mass
